Dental problems in children
From the point of view of a dentist, regular visits to the dentist with little to assess tooth should begin at an early age.
Although this should be done every six month, children have their first contact with the doctor when they already have a problem.
The meeting between the dentist and the child must take place at an early age because:
- Child must get used to the noises in the cabinet , the physician must gain their trust first visit making a play session ;
- Doctor evaluates the baby’s oral health and risk of dental decay , their growth position ;
- Shows you which are the best methods of brushing your baby’s teeth by age ;
- Evaluates the impact on dental teats or any of the little vicious habits ( thumb sucking ) giving you guidance in this regard;
- When permanent teeth appear baby I will make a full assessment -radiologic and clinic- to establish the existence of all teeth, indicating sealing orthodontic treatment need. The child will be taught correct brushing technique and will receive guidance in terms of nutrition.
The most common problems for which parents bring their children to the dentist are caries, gingivitis, tooth abscesses and correct position.
